The Brownston Gallery
The Brownston Gallery is one of the leading contemporary fine art galleries in the South West.
The gallery represents an impressive collection of local and national artists, sculptors and designers. Our collections range from strong investment pieces by late artists including Anthony Amos, Robert Oscar Lenkiewicz and Fred Yates to exciting contemporary work by abstract expressionist Jerry Browning, Scottish colourist inspired Charles Jamieson, Plymouth rising star Julie Ellis, and psychedelic artist John Hurford. We also show Academians Tony Williams, Ray Balkwill, Jo Vollers and Phil Creek as well as gallery favourites including Andrew Miller, Barry Kelly, Tony Parsons, Donald Arlett, Teresa Pemberton, Michael Hill, John Grice and Jennifer Wright.
In addition to our collaboration with The South West Academy we work closely with Arts University Plymouth and enjoy our role as mentor, encouraging and motivating young emerging artists and introducing them to the commercial aspects of the art world.
We strive to maintain a high standard of excellence in everything we do, whether it is curating a new exhibition or finding fresh talent. Whether you are a seasoned collector or a complete newcomer to buying art, we will do whatever we can to help you add to your collection. Our work is constantly changing and our programme of exhibitions is always interesting so do come and visit us if you can. We also have a secret sculpture garden where you are welcome to sit and relax - hopefully in the sunshine!
