Artist Residency
AA2A
AA2A is a unique residency programme designed to support artists in their creative journey.
AA2A is an Arts Council England (ACE) Investment Principle Support Organisation (IPSO) that has been facilitating artists' residencies since 1999. We are a transformative programme that fosters collaboration between further and higher education institutions and artists while supporting students as they transition from study to employment in the arts. What we offer is:
Residencies offer up to 100 hours of access during the academic year, usually with 4-6 artists per college/university.
Free access to high-quality equipment and facilities.
Access to lecture programmes, libraries etc. (access varies)
Being part of an academic/art school community with opportunities to network with other artists, students, staff, collaboration with other departments/schools, invitation to events, private views etc. (varies at different hosts).
Opportunity to attend AA2A free employability seminars, employability talks, and access career development resources.
Access to our Artist Support Fund to help with travel, childcare and materials costs (eligibility criteria apply).
Part of a unique national residency scheme involving 12 universities/colleges and around 60 artists, which aims to support inclusivity and diversity.
Exposure on AA2A’s social media platforms as we share artists’ posts.
Some hosts offer exhibition opportunities and/or paid work.
