Artist Residency, Artist Studio
Arts Hub East Harptree
Artist Residency — free studio space for one year in East Harptree and financial support for running community workshops
An exciting project will be continuing in the rural village of East Harptree, located in the heart of the Chew Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. After a successful first year of the Arts Hub 2024, the project is looking for two artists to take up residency in the studio space for another year.
The Arts Hub 2025 project will be funded by the Arts Council National Lottery Projects Grants and the East Harptree Parish Council.
In return for the space the two artists will engage with the local community and local community groups over the course of the year, offering workshops, exhibitions or other outreach work with members of the public. Our focus for 2025 will be to continue to work with local educational settings and social prescribing organisations, as well as developing a new arts group for new mothers. The artists will be funded by the Arts Hub for delivering the workshops. An arts administrator will be working part time to offer support and mentoring to the two artists and their work within the community.
ABOUT YOU
We see this as an opportunity for an artist in any medium (including theatre, dance, visual arts, community outreach work, music and film). You will be willing and able to host workshops and work with people of varying ages in creative groups.
We hope that you will see this as a chance to engage not just with some of the community groups in the locale, but also the surrounding natural environment, which is of huge importance to the residents of our village and beyond.
