Open Call: Sightings of Morgawr Exhibition

www.fishfactoryarts.com

Deadline Tuesday 30 April 2019

Open Call for Entries - send us your mythical Morgawr artwork to be included in an exhibition as part of the Fal River Festival 2019.

In Cornish folklore, the Morgawr (meaning sea giant in Cornish) is a sea serpent that purportedly inhabits the sea near Falmouth Bay, Cornwall, England. A hoax, an undiscovered creature of the deep or a mythical being - you decide!

All ages, all materials, all styles. We would love to include zines, writing, print, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, mixed media, drawing and collage in this exhibition.

There will be prizes for the best Morgawr artwork including a Fal Mussel Card which will give you unlimited hop-on hop-off travel on the award-winning network of classic ferries, rural bus services and trains that connect the many places to visit around the river.

There is no fee to enter however artists are responsible for transporting/posting the work to us and unfortunately we can’t pay to return artwork so please include return postage or arrange collection on the 4th June.

Deadline 30th April

Drop off 20th May

Collection 4th June

Monday 27th May 11am - 3pm - Morgawr Making Workshop with collage artist and zinester Camilla Stacey. All ages welcome to come and use mixed media to create a Morgawr.
