Along with other significant artists who were working in St Ives in the 1950s, Trevor Bell (1930-2017), helped establish British art on the international stage. He also spent 20 years living and working in America and showed work on both sides of the Atlantic.

Trans-form is the last exhibition supervised by Trevor Bell who passed away in November 2017. Recently, Bell embarked upon a dialogue between mark making and contemporary dance in collaboration with the choreographer, the late Rodger Belman. Trans-form celebrates Bell’s engagement with how the physical energies of a painting can transcend the object’s form and includes a specially commissioned audio/physical visual response, featuring a musical score by Jamie Mills and dance devised and performed by Sarah Fairhall and Lois Taylor.

Trans-Form is conceived and curated by Joseph Clarke.

This is a partnership exhibition delivered by Peninsula Arts and The Box, Plymouth.
