Surface Tensions and Liquid Properties is a screening of artists’ moving image work and new animations curated by Jubilee Pool Stories and the LUX artists’ moving image agency supported by CAST.

The screening programme brings together artists moving image work from across the UK, including artists in the South West, in response to a callout for work related to ‘surface tensions and liquid properties’, complemented by work from the collection of LUX, the artists moving image agency and a Q&A from Director Ben Cook. It will also include the premiere screening of new animations made by BA Animation students from Falmouth University as part of the Jubilee Pool Stories project. The new works animate oral histories about Jubilee Pool, Penzance, collected from local people by students on the Media Diploma at Penwith College.

The screening is part of a project by Jubilee Pool Stories, an arts and heritage project celebrating and building a lasting cultural archive for Penzance’s much-loved lido, Jubilee Pool. A second screening of related films takes place on 24th June at the Acorn Theatre, Penzance.
