Paintings, drawings, prints, rituals & spells for the beginning (and end) of the Celtic Wheel.
The Celtic year begins and ends with Samhain, celebrated (in the northern hemisphere) at the very end of October.  It is a time to acknowledge and prepare for the coming winter when the sunlight is fragile and the nights are long. The exhibition begins with a collective ritual in which we simultaneously read aloud texts and thoughts about the changing season.  We welcome winter as a time of death, decay and transformation; when summer's vegetation composts in fertile darkness.  The paintings, drawings and prints offer a setting in which to recognise the shift from light to dark, and the return to our inner selves and the mysteries of the soul.
Opening night: Wed 30th 6.30-9pm with ritual performance from 7-7.30pm
