Artwerx and Artefacts by Dave Stitch.

A 4 day art exhibition featuring original artwerx, collaborations, workshops, films, live electronic music and DIY synths.

Corrumpo is a collection of prints and artefacts created by Dave Stitch, a man who clambered out of Essex in the late 90’s and has been creating visual art and electronica ever since. He releases work occasionally as one would an injured creature back into the wild… gently and quietly.

Dave created the majority of the work on show during 2015, a year he spent as the personal assistant of a young adult with deep autism. The work reflects the distorted and often turbulent environment from which it came – the composition of many of the pictures lasting only a few seconds before being returned to chaos; what was fleetingly captured on camera was then further corrupted using pixel-pushing and data-moshing techniques before being uploaded to Instagram with incomprehensible hashtags.

Eventually these were compiled into collections and prepared for printing, a selection of which will be on display at The Island, Bristol, 25–29 October 2016 as part of a UK tour.
Also on display will be some artefacts, modular synths and sculptures made in collaboration with other artists and sound designers.

During the daytimes there will be workshops on a range of topics such as designing sigils, DIY electronics, 3d printing and projection mapping.

The gallery space will be open til 11pm on Thursday, 27 October and will be hosting an experimental audio-visual performance by TR-33N, plus screening some recently unearthed, dreamy Hi-8 footage from one of the greatest free parties of all time… Badalona NYE 2000-2001
