Saturday 06 May 2017 – Saturday 24 June 2017
Opening Hours: 10am - 5pm Tuesday to Friday

This knitted and crocheted 3D garden created by over 5,000 volunteers comes to THG as part of a national tour.

An intergenerational community knitting and crochet project, it initially climbed, creeped and blossomed over three floors of Bournemouth Library. The aim of the project was to allow individuals and groups of all ages and abilities to participate in a community project, where knitting and crochet were explored as an art form and the skills handed down through the generations. The garden has also featured on the BBC's The One Show.

THG will be running activities to add further knitted/crocheted pieces so it continues to ‘grow’ like a real garden. There will also be coordinating activities to produce work inspired by the project.

Join us for a garden party on Friday 19 May, 5-9 pm to celebrate a year of our very own community garden - part of the national Museums At Night festival.
