St Gluvias Church, Penryn

Friday 02 November 2018

Experience the magic of St Gluvias Church by candle light in a free concert of new music and poetry. An Antre Procession is Penny and Lally MacBeth’s celebration of Penryn and all its secret corners, lost buildings, gaps and mysterious spaces between.

The composition for recorders, keyboards , shruti box and digital soundscape was inspired by walks and practice based workshops in which Penny and Lally joined a group of local artists, writers, folklorists, psychogeographers and performers in exploring the history and folklore of Penryn and its river, The Antre. Many of the tunes and poems were written on location in and around Penryn.

This will be the first performance of the work before it goes on tour next year to Ireland and Manchester.
