Tyntesfield National Trust

Cocooned in the Somerset countryside, Tyntesfield is a rare survivor- a near complete Victorian Gothic country house and estate. The extraordinary home and working landscape was once created for the Gibbs family, and the richly decorated and furnished house is still home to a remarkable collection of over 60,000 of the family's possessions. Today, the Tyntesfield estate focuses on both conserving the past, as well as promoting contemporary culture. Throughout the year, Tyntesfield hosts outdoor theare prductions, woodland writing workshops and evening lectures.Tyntesfield is cared for by the conservation charity the National Trust.
