New artists studios for rent in Penryn

Deadline Saturday 20 January 2018

Gray’s Wharf is an old riverside warehouse building on Commercial Road, Penryn next to Jubilee Warehouse and Wharf. Artist Hannah Woodman and jeweller Mirri Damer have secured the premises with a view to creating 9 upstairs studios with exhibition and events spaces below. Gray’s Wharf is offering secure spaces for committed practitioners who will benefit from a positive, professional, friendly and artistically engaged environment. There will be opportunities for tenants to exhibit work, hold workshops and become part of a thriving cultural community which we hope will develop links well beyond the Falmouth/Cornwall area. The studios are scheduled to open in March 2018, with the rest of the building development phased over two years.

All studios are on the first floor with high ceilings, good natural light and 24 hour access. They range in size from approximately 100 - 300 sq. ft. and are suitable for both sole occupancy and sharers. They are best suited to Fine Artists, illustrators and photographers requiring quiet, contemplative spaces.

Downstairs there will be exhibition, workshop, lecture and events spaces offering both waterside views and roadside window frontage. This development will be phased over two years giving artists the opportunity to become involved in a future programme of events.

We are seeking applications from artists with a strong commitment to their studio-based practice to ensure the building remains lively and fully utilised. If you are interested in applying or would like further information please visit our Facebook page and email us at by 20/01/18.
