Exciting artist commission opportunity to work with young children, engaging them through architecture & place.
The Architecture Centre Bristol is delighted to launch this unique Open-Call which seeks to commission two artists in 2019 to participate in their new My Place, Our Place project. My Place, Our Place is a collaborative project that will test methodologies to creatively engage early years audiences with the art form that is all around us: architecture and place.
The two selected artists will work closely with two Bristol Childrens Centres (one artist paired to one centre) from March-July 2019. During this period, artists will be invited to develop and lead 10 creative experiences that will explore the theme of ‘place’ with the early years participants (3-4 year olds) of the Centre. Engaging children with their surroundings through any (and all) artforms, this is an exciting opportunity for any artist who believes in the innate creativity of children and who wishes to artistically contribute to a research-based project evidencing the value of place-based learning.
