He explores different dynamics, from 'fathers and sons' to 'people and pooches' - two projects currently in development. His quest is to capture, to communicate, some essence of the intangible mystery that connects us to those we love.

Photographing his subjects within their domestic environment, Jojo takes a traditional approach which includes sepia toning the final images. This creates a visual juxtaposition, between the appearing oldness of the photograph and the contemporary subjects within it.

For twenty years, Jojo has been documenting the people of Plymouth in books and exhibitions. Despite being well-known for his naked portraits, this exhibition focuses on familial relationships from soul-mates to single mothers and features no nudity. U + ME = US will be on show for the majority of September, including Art Weekender dates. Be sure to drop in and explore the building across the weekend, with a range of activities and exhibitions to get involved in.
