Sound Design is an evening exploring the relationship between the titans of creativity, and two of Bristol’s favourite things: music and graphic design. It is hosted by the West of England Design Forum (WEDF), the design cluster for the West of England, and guest curated and produced by Bristol-based design maverick and rap connoisseur Gavin Strange.

Taking place on Thursday 30th November at The Tunnels in Bristol, Sound Design is a one-off celebration of talks and music. The evening will kick off with a stellar line-up of speakers from the music and design industry, speaking about their most rewarding creative projects, their biggest challenges and their personal insight into what gets their heart pumping and ear drums pulsing.

The speakers have been selected from the great and the good working in design and music. They are Chris Hopewell from Jacknife prints; music photographer and printmaker Rebecca Cleal; Adam Rodgers, Creative Director at International Magic; and Jimmy Turrell, graphic artist and video director. Between them, they have worked with musicians including Radiohead, FKA Twigs, Jamie xx, Jessie Ware and Beck.

After the talks, DJs will take over to continue the immersive celebration of music and design. With food vans from The Little Taquero and Murray May’s, merchandise stalls and a bar, The Tunnels will provide the perfect backdrop for the WEDF’s own take on MTV. There will also be a poster giveaway courtesy of With-Print, as well as a Sound Design logo competition with a prize draw and the chance to win a selection of design goodies.

Promising treats both visual and audio, Sound Design is a night not to be missed!
