To celebrate RAMM’s 150th anniversary, press and portrait photographer Jim Wileman has taken a look behind the scenes to capture some of the museum moments that members of the public don’t normally see.

We gave Jim a ‘backstage pass’ to see how RAMM’s exhibitions are put together, to observe curators at work and see the delicate conservation work in the labs. He went on the roof with the Building Services Officer, watched the meticulous cleaning of the galleries, and visited the museum storage to see some of the many objects which are not currently on display.

This exhibition is a chance to see the museum from a different viewpoint, and to celebrate RAMM, its collections and its people.
